RI IP Curriculum: What Raffles Institution Publishes for 2026

Raffles Institution publishes separate curriculum pages for Years 1 to 4 and Years 5 and 6. This guide maps those current sources and makes clear what they do not establish.

Q: Does RI publish one complete year-by-year IP syllabus?
A: Not on the current public pages reviewed here. RI publishes subject-area pages, talent-programme pages, and a dated Years 5 and 6 A-Level curriculum document. Use cohort instructions from the school for exact topic order, assessments, promotion rules, and deadlines.

RI's six-year route

MOE defines the Integrated Programme as a six-year course leading to the GCE A-Level examination, IB Diploma, or NUS High School Diploma, depending on the school. IP students do not need to take the GCE O-Level examination in Secondary 4.

RI's current Years 5 and 6 curriculum document confirms that its students take the Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level curriculum. This means the public route can be summarised as:

• Years 1 to 4: RI's academic and talent-development pages establish the published subject areas and named school programmes.
• Years 5 and 6: RI's academic page and current curriculum PDF establish A-Level requirements, subjects, prerequisites, and dated combination rules.
• Exact cohort operations: instructions issued by RI control topic sequence, assessment calendars, promotion decisions, application windows, and approved combinations for that cohort.

The public pages do not support treating an old timetable, assessment plan, or subject table as permanent.

What RI publishes for Years 1 to 4

RI's current academic hub groups its Years 1 to 4 curriculum under Aesthetics, Character and Leadership Education, Humanities, Languages, Mathematics, Physical Education, and Sciences.

The Mathematics page describes an emphasis on critical thinking, problem-solving, experimentation, data, and differentiated learning. It does not publish the earlier guide's claimed year-by-year list of algebra, calculus, probability, and statistics topics.

The Sciences hub separates Science for Years 1 and 2 from Science for Years 3 and 4. It does not establish the earlier guide's exact timing for mechanics, electromagnetism, uncertainty, redox, equilibrium, genetics, or physiology.

For exact topics and assessment scope, use the material issued to the student's cohort. A public subject description is not a complete examinable syllabus.

Talent development is programme-specific

RI's current talent-development hub lists subject, language, arts, research, speaking, writing, and leadership programmes. Named examples include the Bicultural Studies Programme (China), Computer Elective Programme, Music Elective Programme, RI-Art Elective Programme, and Raffles Academy.
