River Valley High IP: 2026 DSA, Curriculum, and Fees Guide

River Valley High School runs a six-year Integrated Programme within one school, from Secondary 1 through JC2. Students complete the GCE A-Level examination at the end of the programme.

Curriculum and progression

River Valley describes a customised six-year curriculum with interdisciplinary applied learning, all-round development, and partnerships. Its Construct, Integrate and Differentiate programme is a current interdisciplinary platform. These programme descriptions do not prove a fixed module sequence or guaranteed external placement for every student.

The school owns both the secondary and JC stages. Current JC1 subject combinations are published separately and can change by cohort. Earlier programme exposure does not guarantee a particular A-Level combination.

River Valley also admits some O-Level students into JC1 through the Joint Admissions Exercise. That route does not change the six-year commitment for students admitted to the IP through DSA-Sec.

2026 DSA-Sec for 2027 entry

Applications were open from 6 May 2026 at 11am to 2 June 2026 at 4.30pm. Current talent areas span sports, performing and visual arts, leadership, and STEM. Shortlisting uses academic performance, Chinese Language performance, and talent evidence. Meeting the criteria does not guarantee shortlisting or an offer.

Selection tests and interviews take place in July and August, with outcomes from 17 to 28 August 2026. Successful applicants cannot enter Secondary 1 Posting or transfer after PSLE results. They must honour the six-year IP commitment and their admitted talent activities through Secondary 4.

Higher Chinese boundary

River Valley's FAQ says Higher Chinese is not an admission prerequisite. The DSA page nevertheless considers Chinese Language performance, and the school says all students take Higher Chinese from Secondary 1 to Secondary 4. Families should distinguish entry eligibility from the curriculum requirement after admission.

Fees and assistance

River Valley's fee page displays scheduled 2026 monthly amounts, but also says the information is correct as of 2024 and directs readers to MOE for the latest rates. Use the live school page together with the MOE fee checker before budgeting.
