Q: How does MOE's DSA-Sec Portal work?
A: One online application covers your child's DSA-Sec choices (School of the Arts and Singapore Sports School take direct applications instead). A parent logs in with Singpass (or an MOE registration number), picks up to 3 school-and-talent-area choices, and submits for free. Schools then run their own selection, and families with an offer rank their schools in October before MOE releases the allocation with the PSLE results.

TL;DR
One Singpass login → up to three school-and-talent-area choices (at most two for the same school) → no application fee (MOE DSA-Sec, Apply).
The 2026 exercise: applications Wed 6 May to 4.30pm Tue 2 Jun 2026; school outcomes by Fri 28 Aug 2026; school preferences 9am Mon 19 Oct to 4.30pm Fri 23 Oct 2026; allocation with the PSLE results on Tue 24 Nov or Wed 25 Nov 2026 (tentative).
MOE has not announced the 2027 dates as of 23 October 2026.

Status: MOE DSA-Sec pages checked on 23 October 2026 (overview last updated 19 October 2026).

School	How it admits Secondary 1 students	Where to check requirements
NUS High School	DSA-Sec only, through the portal	NUS High Year 1 admissions
School of Science and Technology (SST)	DSA-Sec only, through the portal	SST DSA-Sec
School of the Arts (SOTA)	DSA-Sec only, but you apply directly to SOTA (2026: 9am Monday 30 March to 5pm Friday 8 May 2026)	SOTA DSA-Secondary
Singapore Sports School	Its own admission process	Singapore Sports School Secondary 1 admission

Mistake	Quick fix
Using only one choice	Plan all 3 school-and-talent-area choices before the portal opens.
Login problems on the last day	Sort out Singpass, or the RG number, before the window opens.
Mixing up the application and preference windows	Application is in May and June; preference submission is a single week in October.
Missing the preference window	Without a submitted preference, the child is treated as having withdrawn from DSA-Sec.
Forgetting the PSLE	A Confirmed Offer still needs a PSLE score in a Posting Group the school offers.
