When exactly are SMO 2026 results out?

SMS published them on 7 August 2026: https://sgmathsociety.org/results-for-smo-2026/

Can I check SMO results online?

Yes. The official results page lists school awards and individual awards for the three sections. It does not provide every participant's score, so check with the registering school for details not shown publicly.

What score do I need for Gold?

Cut-off scores are not published in advance. SMS says certificates go to students who meet criteria that depend on the level of difficulty of the competition, and that only participants invited to Round 2 are considered for individual prizes and Gold certificates, using Round 1 and Round 2 results.

What if I didn't get a medal?

SMO is one of several ways to demonstrate mathematical ability. If you are in lower secondary, you have multiple years to participate again. Continuous improvement matters more than a single result. How does SMO compare to NMOS and SASMO?

SMO is for secondary and JC students (not primary). It is generally considered more challenging than SASMO at the same grade level. NMOS is the primary-school equivalent in Singapore's olympiad pipeline. See how they all connect: https://eclatinstitute.sg/blog/Singapore-Maths-Olympiad-Pathway-NMOS-SMO-APMO-IMO
