Q: When are SPhO 2026 results released and how do I check them?
A: SPhO Theory round results are typically released in November--December. The Experimental round follows in January--February of the following year, with those results released shortly after. Results are communicated through IPS and schools.
TL;DR
SPhO (Singapore Physics Olympiad) has two rounds: Theory and Experimental.
Theory round results typically arrive in November--December.
Experimental round results typically arrive in January--February of the following year.
Award tiers: Gold, Silver, Bronze, Honourable Mention.
Top performers are selected for Singapore's APhO and IPhO teams.
1 When are SPhO 2026 results released?
SPhO is organised by the Institute of Physics Singapore (IPS) in partnership with NUS Physics. The competition typically runs across two stages in different parts of the academic year:
| Round | Typical competition window | Results typically released |
| Theory round | Typically October--November | November--December |
| Experimental round | Typically January--February (following year) | February--March (following year) |
These timelines are approximate. IPS announces exact dates through school circulars and the official SPhO page: https://www.physics.nus.edu.sg/olympiad/spho
Note: The Experimental round typically takes place in the following calendar year (e.g. SPhO 2026 Theory in late 2026, Experimental in early 2027). Confirm the schedule with your school's Physics department.
