Is there a separate SCDF Paramedic Scholarship?
MHA's current page presents SCDF Paramedic Service as a career track within the MHA Uniformed Scholarship. Use that scholarship page and confirm that the offer identifies the paramedic track.

Current status

MHA publishes the next application period as 1 September 2026 to 15 March 2027. It was not open on the 19 July review date.

Course fit

For candidates interested in SCDF Paramedic Service, MHA lists:

• para-medicine; or
• related disciplines in Emergency Health or Clinical Practice.

The page does not publish a complete list of approved universities or course titles. Obtain course approval before committing to a programme.

Scholarship structure

The paramedic track sits under the MHA Uniformed Scholarship. The Scholarship Board may offer the Singapore Merit Scholarship, Singapore Government Scholarship, Local Merit Scholarship, or Home Team Local Study Award tier.

MHA lists the same bond periods for the uniformed scholarship:

• 4 years for local studies;
• 5 years for study in a non-English-speaking country; and
• 6 years for study in an English-speaking country.

The bond starts when official duty begins after study.

Published benefits

MHA lists tuition and approved charges, maintenance allowance, pre-studies allowance, overseas return airfare, National Service disruption, possible Master's and exchange sponsorship, full salary during study including bonuses, and a Vacation Attachment Programme.

The tier and offer letter control. Do not assume that every benefit has the same value or condition across tiers.

Eligibility and mid-term route

The general uniformed criteria include citizenship or intended citizenship, leadership potential, interest in safety and security, good academic and CCA records, and a recognised high-school qualification. MHA also lists National Service performance requirements for male applicants and an Officer Cadet School condition for the Singapore Merit Scholarship tier.

Current undergraduates may use the mid-term route if they meet MHA's full-time study, academic, semester, and not-final-year criteria.

What remains to confirm with SCDF and MHA

The scholarship page does not publish a complete paramedic selection, medical, fitness, training, posting, shift, or progression contract. It also does not establish:

• a guaranteed station or team;
• the day-to-day duties of every scholar;
