Q: What is the AMC (American Mathematics Competitions)?
A: The AMC (American Mathematics Competitions) is a series of maths contests run by the Mathematical Association of America (MAA). The AMC 8, AMC 10, and AMC 12 are MCQ papers (no calculators). Top scorers qualify for the AIME and ultimately USA(J)MO. Singapore IP students sit AMC to benchmark globally and strengthen DSA portfolios. Registration is through a host site (school or learning centre) - not individual.

Each AMC 8/10/12 paper is multiple‑choice, no calculators, and invites top scorers 2%forAMC10;5%forAMC12 ≈ 2\% for AMC 10; ≈ 5\% for AMC 12 to the next round.
Singapore IP students use the AMC to benchmark against global peers and to support-not secure-DSA Math portfolios.
