Q: My child is in an IP school (secondary years) - can we apply? A: The SINDA portal covers Government or Government-aided secondary schools. IP schools that are Government or Government-aided should qualify; confirm with SINDA if your school is listed.
Q: Is the $145/month paid monthly or as a lump sum? A: It is paid monthly from the month of approval until November 2026. Apply early to receive the maximum number of months.
Q: We are Indian PRs, not SCs. Are we eligible? A: Yes. Indian PRs are eligible - the student or at least one parent may hold PR status.
Q: Can we hold SINDA and MOE FAS at the same time? A: Yes. MOE FAS (school-administered) and the SINDA bursary (SINDA portal) are independent and can run concurrently.
Q: My child is transitioning to JC or polytechnic - do I need to reapply? A: Yes. SINDA does not automatically carry over the bursary to post-secondary level. For post-secondary support, apply through SIET - see the SINDA–SIET Tertiary Bursary guide.
