Q: Where can I study in Singapore without worrying about my laptop dying?
A: This guide lists free study venues - libraries, CC study rooms, and public spaces - with confirmed power outlets at the study tables, organised by region. Every venue is free to use.
TL;DR
For guaranteed power, go to a regional library: Jurong Regional (plugs at every table), Woodlands Regional (levels 1 - 3), Punggol Regional (Level 3 cubicles), or Tampines Regional (levels 4 - 5). For CC study rooms, Siglap CC provides extension cables. The PA confirmed that 270+ CCs have plug outlets - but availability at individual tables varies, so always bring a power bank as backup.

Why this page exists
Forum threads on r/SGExams, r/askSingapore, and HardwareZone consistently ask the same question: "Where can I study with a charging port?" The answers are scattered across dozens of threads. This guide consolidates the confirmed-power venues in one place so you can stop searching and start studying.

1 Regional libraries (best free power)

Regional libraries are the most reliable free venues for laptop-heavy study sessions. They are larger than neighbourhood branches, have dedicated study zones, and - critically - tend to have power outlets at individual tables rather than shared wall sockets.

Jurong Regional Library

  • Power: Plugs at every table in the Reading/Study Lounge areas (floors 2 - 3). Forum users specifically praise this as one of the best libraries for power access.
  • Location: 21 Jurong East Central 1, near Jurong East MRT. Short sheltered walk.
  • Tip: Arrive before noon - the study lounges fill up after school dismissal.

Woodlands Regional Library

  • Power: Charging ports at workstations across levels 1 - 3. The Level 3 Quiet Reading Room is a separate enclosed room - one of the quietest in the NLB network.
  • Location: Woodlands Civic Centre, near Woodlands MRT (NSL/TEL).
  • Size: Approximately 11,100 sq m across 4 storeys - one of NLB's largest branches.
