Study spots with power plugs in Singapore (2026)
Find a study place with power and Wi-Fi
Start with the power and Wi-Fi view of the study-spots map. It prioritises records that currently indicate both laptop power and Wi-Fi, but you should still confirm that a usable socket is available before travelling.
- Community study areas: browse the CC study rooms near me, then call the centre about the exact room.
- Libraries: use the libraries near me map, but do not assume every bookable seat has a socket.
- All place types: clear the power filter on the main finder if distance matters more than confirmed amenities.
Q: Which Singapore study venues currently have owner-published evidence of plug outlets?
A: PA's current Community Study Areas page says its study corners in over 270 CCs and RCs have available plug outlets. Its linked venue directories are dated, so call the specific centre before travelling. NLB's reviewed branch pages identify study spaces but do not promise a socket at every seat.
TL;DR
Use PA's current Community Study Areas page to find the official directories, then call the listed centre to confirm that its study area, access rules, hours, and usable sockets are current. For an NLB library, check the live branch page and seat-booking portal, but bring a charged power bank because the reviewed NLB sources do not map plugs to individual study seats.

1 What is actually confirmed
PA's Community Study Areas page was last updated on 14 January 2026. It says:
- there are study areas in over 270 Community Clubs and Centres and Residents' Committee centres;
- each study corner offers an air-conditioned environment and space for individual or group learning; and
- plug outlets are available for charging laptops and mobile devices.
That is first-party confirmation at the network level. It is not a promise that every table has a working, unoccupied outlet or that every room is open when you arrive.
PA links two detailed directories:
- CC and integrated-hub study areas, labelled accurate as at 5 September 2025;
- RC, RN, and NC study areas, labelled accurate as at 28 August 2025.
Both directories say seats are limited and first come, first served, and ask readers to call or email before heading down. Treat their room names, hours, access rules, and contact details as dated records rather than live availability.
2 Useful PA records to investigate
The entries below illustrate why a day-of check matters. Details are from the 5 September 2025 directory unless a newer owner page is linked.
- Bishan CC Study Room: the dated record lists 51 Bishan Street 13, daily hours of 10am to 9.30pm except public holidays, charging points, and no booking requirement. Call 6259 4720 to confirm the room, hours, entry, and working socket access.
- Geylang West CC Study Room: the dated record lists 1205 Upper Boon Keng Road, daily hours of 10am to 10pm except public holidays, and OnePA booking. Confirm that the booking route and current access conditions have not changed.
- Keat Hong CC PODs: the dated record lists 2 Choa Chu Kang Loop, hours of 6am to midnight, and BURZT reservation. Confirm the current app, pod availability, fees, and plug position before booking.
- Hougang CC Study Room: the dated record lists 35 Hougang Avenue 3, hours of 10am to 9pm, and access restricted to PAssion cardholders and Hougang CC Study Club members. Confirm membership and access requirements before travelling.
- Yuhua CC Study Room: the dated record lists 90 Boon Lay Way, hours of 10am to 9.45pm except public holidays, an annual registration fee, and an access-card process. Confirm current fees, registration, hours, and socket access.
- Heartbeat@Bedok public benches: the dated record lists levels 2, 3, and 4, hours of 9am to 9.30pm including public holidays, an open-air area, and Wireless@SG. The row does not identify socket locations, so ask Heartbeat@Bedok before relying on power.
PA East Coast's newer community-centres page currently describes Bedok CC's Chill Mug as free from 10am to 9.30pm daily. It still does not identify table-level socket placement. Use the venue contact for the detail you actually need.
The old version of this guide said Siglap CC supplied extension cables and that Pasir Ris Elias CC had powered cubicles. PA's detailed directory lists their study areas and hours but does not make either power-specific claim. Those statements have been removed.
3 Libraries: study-space evidence is not socket evidence
NLB's current materials support several useful study-space facts:
- Woodlands Regional Library: the current branch page offers a Reserve Study Seat Area action, and NLB's fact sheet records a four-storey, 11,100-square-metre library.
- Tampines Regional Library: NLB's fact sheet places the Study Lounge and Co-Working Lounge on level 5. Study Lounge seats are bookable; Co-Working Lounge booking is for patrons aged 21 and above.
- Punggol Regional Library: NLB's fact sheet records a five-storey library with a Co-working Zone. Its social story places the Study Zone on level 3 and the Co-Working Zone on level 4.
- Jurong Regional Library: NLB documents the current branch and its planned 2028 relocation, but the reviewed owner material does not promise plugs at every table.
- National Library and library@harbourfront: current owner pages establish their locations and facilities, not powered seats on particular floors.
The reviewed NLB pages do not establish the former claims that:
- Jurong Regional Library has plugs at every table;
- Woodlands has charging ports at all workstations on levels 1 to 3;
- every Punggol level 3 cubicle has a power point and lamp;
- Tampines levels 4 and 5 have powered seats;
- National Library levels 7 to 11 have an outlet at every bookable seat; or
- library@harbourfront has charging ports at its study seats.
Use NLB's live locations page for branch hours and the seat-booking portal for the seat types currently offered. A reservable seat is not automatically a powered seat. Ask NLB or inspect the seat description before relying on a socket.
4 Public spaces, cafes, and youth venues
The former page called Heartbeat@Bedok's lobby, Tzu Chi Humanistic Youth Centre, and *SCAPE HubQuarters confirmed free spaces with power at every table. It also repeated forum suggestions involving hospitals, Changi Airport, and coffee chains.
Those claims were not established by the reviewed current owner sources. A venue being open to visitors does not prove that studying is permitted, a seat is available, sockets can be used, Wi-Fi is free, or long stays are allowed.
Before using a non-library venue, ask the operator:
- Is laptop study allowed today?
- Is entry or seating chargeable?
- Are customers allowed to use the sockets?
- Is there a time limit, minimum purchase, age rule, or booking requirement?
- Will an event or maintenance closure affect the area?
5 A safer power checklist
- Fully charged device: a published plug does not guarantee a free or working outlet.
- Power bank that suits your device: this reduces dependence on the venue's electrical layout.
- Original or safety-certified charger: public charging should not depend on damaged or unsuitable equipment.
- Venue contact and source date: ask about the exact study area rather than the whole building.
- Current booking confirmation: a dated directory is not a reservation.
Do not assume that extension cords or multi-plugs are permitted. They can obstruct walkways or overload an outlet. Use one only if the venue expressly allows it.
6 FAQ
- Which source gives the strongest current evidence of study-area plugs? PA's Community Study Areas page currently says plug outlets are available at study corners across its network. The specific venue directories are dated, so confirm the individual room before travelling.
- Which individual PA entry explicitly mentions charging points? The 5 September 2025 directory explicitly lists charging points for Bishan CC Study Room. It also says to call before visiting because seats are limited.
- Does an NLB seat booking guarantee a power socket? No such guarantee appears in the reviewed NLB sources. A booking confirms a seat under the portal's current rules, not necessarily a socket.
- Is every PA study area free? The reviewed sources do not support a universal free rule. Some dated records specify membership, registration, or fees. Confirm the current terms with the centre.
- Can I rely on a real-time crowd indicator to find a powered seat? No. A building-level crowd indicator does not identify working sockets or seat-level availability.
- What should I do if I need uninterrupted laptop power? Call the venue about the exact room and bring a suitable power bank. For a paid workspace, verify the current desk product, hours, price, and socket access in its booking flow.
