TL;DR
Use Queenstown Public Library while it remains open. For Dover CC or Buona Vista CC, call first because PA's detailed room list is dated. Use The Star Vista only as a flexible commercial fallback and ask the individual outlet before settling in.

1 The important Queenstown Library correction

An earlier version of this guide said Queenstown Public Library had already closed for a two-year renovation. That was wrong because the planned 2025 closure was delayed.

NLB's current update says:

Last operating day: 30 August 2026
Temporary closure: after that date, for a major revamp
Planned reopening: late 2028

This means Queenstown Public Library remains a usable option on the review date. Check the NLB libraries directory immediately before travelling, especially as the closure approaches.

After Queenstown closes, NLB says more details on alternative services will follow. Do not assume that an old proposal for a book dispenser is the final 2026 replacement arrangement.

2 CC study areas: useful records, not live promises

PA's Community Study Areas page says its network spans more than 270 CC and RC locations. The detailed CC and integrated-hub list it currently links is explicitly marked information accurate as at 5 September 2025. PA also tells visitors to call or email the venue to check availability before heading down.
