How is SMU Access+ different from the MOE HECB?

The HECB is a fixed government grant (SGD 6,300/yr for Tier 1) that reduces your SMU tuition bill. Access+ then covers whatever tuition remains after the HECB, plus adds a living allowance and exposure grants - it is SMU's own top-up package for the lowest-income students.

Do I need to maintain a minimum GPA to keep Access+?

Yes. SMU requires a minimum CAP of 2.0. If you fall below this threshold, contact SMU's financial aid office immediately to discuss your options before your aid is suspended.

Is Access+ available to international students?

Access+ as described targets Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents. International students should check SMU's separate international student financial aid programmes.

Are the living allowance and exposure grant amounts fixed?
