SEC Transition Watch: What O-Level Physics Candidates Need to Know

TL;DR
MOE’s Full SBB infographic (updated Sep 2025) says mixed-form classes from 2024 will sit the Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC) at the end of Sec 4, making 2026 the final O-/N-Level cohort and 2027 the first SEC sitting (FSBB infographic; see also MOE’s 2024 press release on SEC).
 SEAB's SEC page states that students will sit subjects at G1, G2, or G3 levels, receive one certificate reflecting the subjects and subject levels taken, and that overall examination standards and assessment formats remain the same (SEAB SEC page). SEAB has also published 2027 SEC syllabus pages; for Physics, this includes a G3 syllabus PDF (SEAB SEC syllabus index; Physics (G3) PDF).
 If your cohort is still taking O-Level Physics (6091), keep training for today’s Paper 3 expectations while monitoring SEAB updates for any SEC-related refinements (SEAB 6091 syllabus PDF; SEAB SEC page).
