M1 Mechanics 1 is an IAS applied unit in Pearson Edexcel International A Level Mathematics. It develops motion, forces, equilibrium and moments through mathematical models. For the full Mathematics award, M1 can be paired with S1 Statistics 1, D1 Decision Mathematics 1 or M2 Mechanics 2, alongside compulsory P1 to P4.

  • Revise first: rearranging equations, vectors, graphs and basic differentiation from the pure units used by your centre.
  • Continue next: use M2 only if your registered route is M1 + M2; otherwise continue with S1 or D1.
