- Strong communication in English and/or mother tongue; social media storytelling is an advantage.
- Singapore Citizen or PR (Malaysian citizens considered for the Chinese Media Group scholarship).
Application Timeline
- Oct–Dec: Compile writing samples, multimedia projects, and referee letters; attend SPH Media scholarship briefings.
- Jan: Submit application (even before final exam results) with transcripts, essays, and evidence of journalistic aptitude.
- Feb: Complete aptitude tests covering language proficiency, situational judgment, and current affairs IQ.
- Mar: Attend panel interviews with newsroom editors who evaluate news instincts and resilience.
- Apr–May: Receive outcomes; prepare for internship placements and scholar induction.
