The biology practical component tests food tests, enzyme investigations, osmosis, and biological drawing — the same techniques as pure Biology Paper 3, but narrower in scope and shorter in time.
The fastest mark gains are in food tests (memorise the reagents and colour changes cold) and biological drawing (clean pencil lines, accurate proportions, annotated magnification).

Planning (P)	State IV, DV, and at least two controlled variables. Describe the method step-by-step. Identify one safety consideration. Explain how the data answers the question.
MMO	Follow instructions precisely. Record observations in exact biological language — "brick-red precipitate" not "colour change". Measure to instrument resolution.
PDO	Tables with correct headers and units. Percentage mass change calculated with working shown. Graphs with labelled axes, units, appropriate scale, and best-fit line or curve.
ACE	Draw a justified conclusion linked directly to the data. State one limitation with its impact on the result. Suggest one realistic, specific improvement.
