Q: Is Ang Mo Kio Public Library moving to AMK Hub?
A: Yes. NLB says the current library's last operating day is 31 July 2026 and the relocated AMK Hub library is scheduled to reopen on 20 November 2026. During the closure, NLB points users to a Browse-n-Borrow kiosk and Sit-n-Read Node on Level 4 of AMK Hub, or to Bishan, Yishun and Toa Payoh libraries.

The former guide said the library merely “may be relocating” and gave no closure or reopening date. That is now stale. It also treated a future AMK Hub library and mall cafe backup as if both were already operating together.
Ang Mo Kio Public Library study area before closure
NLB's 2022 fact sheet describes the current standalone building in Ang Mo Kio town centre as:
- approximately 4,277 square metres across two levels;
- Level 1 for children's materials, adult English fiction, magazines and audiovisual materials; and
- Level 2 for young people, adult non-fiction, language and Singapore collections.
The fact sheet also describes the landscaped setting as a quiet environment for reading and studying. Those details describe the existing building and should not be copied onto the AMK Hub library before NLB publishes the new layout.

AMK Hub library opening date and interim services
NLB's current announcement gives 20 November 2026 as the reopening date. It says users can access a self-service Browse-n-Borrow kiosk and Sit-n-Read Node on Level 4 of AMK Hub during the closure.
These terms matter:
- Browse-n-Borrow kiosk: a self-service borrowing point;
- Sit-n-Read Node: an interim reading space; and
- Ang Mo Kio Library: the full branch scheduled to reopen on 20 November.
Do not describe the kiosk or node as a full library, a reservable study room, or a guarantee of desks, power points and long-session seating.
NLB also names Bishan Library, Yishun Library and Toa Payoh Library as alternatives during the relocation. Check each branch in the live NLB locator before travelling.
Upper Thomson library searches
The official relocation announcement does not name a separate Upper Thomson public-library branch. For a current nearby option, search NLB's live locations page by your starting point and compare the actual journey to the named alternatives.
For users around Upper Thomson MRT, Thomson CC is a closer facility lead than the AMK library, but its current onePA page does not establish a public study room. A community club and a public library also have different access, noise and booking rules.
Thomson CC study room: what is verified
The current Thomson CC onePA page lists:

- Marymount and Upper Thomson stations as nearby transport points.
The page does not establish the former Level 3 open sitting area, 10am-to-6pm study hours, free entry or public study-room access. Counter-service hours do not prove study-space hours.
If you searched for Thomson CC study room, contact the CC and ask whether a walk-in study area is operating today, where it is, who may use it, and whether there are charges, time limits, power points or room-specific Wi-Fi.
Kebun Baru CC study room: what is verified
The current Kebun Baru CC onePA page lists:

- counter services from 10am to 6pm; and
- Wi-Fi among the building amenities.
The page does not establish that a dedicated public study room runs from 10am to 10pm, is first-come-first-served, closes on public holidays or is free. It also does not show that building Wi-Fi reaches a study room. Those former claims were removed.
Marymount CC study room: what is verified
The current Marymount CC onePA page lists:

The page does not establish the former Level 1 sitting area, free access or a current study-room schedule. Verify the exact room rather than assuming that a CC's common area is a study facility.

- Check whether your visit is on or before 31 July, during the temporary closure, or on or after the planned 20 November reopening.
- Open NLB's live location page for the current Ang Mo Kio entry or named alternative.
- Use NLB seat booking only for seats the system actually lists.
- For a CC, call the current onePA number and confirm the exact study area, access rules and room hours.
- Check the official transport journey planner shortly before leaving.
- Keep a second verified library in the same route.
