1 Why the AMK–Upper Thomson corridor matters
Ang Mo Kio is a key North-Central node for students:
- Anderson Serangoon JC (ASRJC) is temporarily at 1033 Upper Serangoon Road (returning to 4500 Ang Mo Kio Ave 6 in Dec 2027). AMK-based students will benefit from the permanent campus return.
- CHIJ St Nicholas Girls' School is at 501 Ang Mo Kio Street 13.
- Nanyang Polytechnic (180 Ang Mo Kio Ave 8) - accessible from AMK MRT via buses along Ave 8.
- Ang Mo Kio MRT (NSL) is a major interchange hub surrounded by AMK Hub, bus interchange, and food options.
Upper Thomson MRT (TEL) adds a second line to this corridor. Students along the Thomson–East Coast Line (from Woodlands, Caldecott, or Marine Parade) can now reach the AMK area without routing through the NSL, which reduces commute time for after-school study sessions.
